Definitions of Western Medicine * from
- National Cancer Institute (of NIH): a system in which medical doctors and other healthcare professionals (such as nurses, pharmacists, and therapists) treat symptoms and diseases using drugs, radiation, or surgery.
- Macmillan Dictionary: the type of medical treatment that is the most popular in North America and Western European countries, based on the use of drugs and surgery to treat symptoms (=signs of illness).
Western medicine is largely the practice of diagnosing and treating symptoms, and then following pharmaceutical, radiological, or surgical protocol procedures to offset or prevent the spread of those symptoms. In short, it is a system to manage and treat symptoms with drugs, radiation, or surgery. But the root causes of diseases are unknown and are not treated or cured.
For example, a patient’s gallbladder is removed because the physical organ is malfunctioning. But the cause of the gallbladder malfunction is most likely due to malnourishment, and consequently the gallbladder is no longer to function properly.
Insufficient nourishment to the gallbladder results from the lack of consumption of nourishing foods, or even if the proper foods are consumed, poor circulation can prevent those essential nourishment from reaching the gallbladder. Operations leave scars and additional blockages that further prevent nourishment from reaching the deficient area. Although the gallbladder has been removed, the health problems still remain and deteriorate each day. This is why more health issues arise after gallbladder removals and other surgical operations.
Just like how cars run on fuel, once the gallbladder receives its fuel, it begins to operate normally again. Providing the right nourishment as well as making sure that this nourishment reaches the gallbladder is the only way to completely recover from gallbladder health and function issues.
Without knowing the cause of illnesses, Modern Western Medicine cannot really cure any illness. It started by a business person who sold chemicals and is a commercial system selling products anyway.
